Park Hyatt Aviara Announces new "Aviara Kids Academy" Launching Memorial Day Weekend
Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in North San Diego announces a new way for children to experience one of California’s top family destinations with the launch of Aviara Kids Academy. Led by the Academy Director, Aviara Kids Academy provides children 4-12 their own unique immersion into North San Diego. While the kids partake in a multitude of fun and educational experiences, parents will enjoy the AAA Five Diamond Resort’s multi-million dollar renovation being unveiled this month.
Aviara Kids Academy will open over Memorial Day weekend, offering kids a variety of new themed activities each day – from learning about the ecosystem at nearby Batiquitos Lagoon wildlife preserve to interactive exploration of Northern San Diego’s thriving arts and culinary culture. Led by Academy Director Lacie Lee, a native San Diegan, the Academy makes learning fun with hands-on arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, culinary classes and plenty of outdoor recreation at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort’s tennis courts and recreation lawn.
“I am excited to be a part of the Aviara Kids Academy, and provide children a place of their own at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort,” said Lee. “When we set out to build the program, we wanted to take the group experience to a new, elevated level with innovative educational programming that exercises both their growing minds and bodies. Like camp, the Academy is a space to create lasting memories.”
The Academy joins the Resort’s expansive range of kid-friendly amenities, including a 24-hour, fully-stocked game room, a wagon of fun and engaging toys to peruse upon arrival, a children’s welcome sent to the room upon check-in and a complimentary game, movie and toy check-out system. Outside, the family pool appeals to younger guests’ size and appetites with a one-foot wading pool and Kiddy Café. A sprawling recreation area features a variety of courts, sporting equipment and a full-sized playground.
Adult guests will appreciate Park Hyatt Aviara Resort’s recent multi-million dollar renovation, which enhanced all 329 guestrooms and the Resort’s casual dining restaurant, California Bistro. The Resort engaged BAMO, Inc. to curate the renovations. Based in San Francisco and internationally known for refinement and style, the design team brought fresh whites, bright blues and a hint of modern ikat print to the new guestroom décor, reflecting a comfortable coastal luxury style that enhances the traditional Spanish Colonial architecture of the Resort. California Bistro will be refreshed and revamped with a lounge area to accommodate guests and families in a relaxed, yet modern space.
“The resort has so much to offer guests this summer – from award-winning golf to a relaxing spa, incredible dining and personalized services such as our Beach Butler and Surf Concierge. Now the Aviara Kids Academy and newly renovated guestrooms and dining facilities add even more for our guests to enjoy,” said General Manager Mark Stiebeling. “We look forward to welcoming our guests and providing the ultimate North San Diego getaway.”
