Oct 24,2013 - PARK HYATT AVIARA RESORT PARTNERS WITH STONE BREWING CO. AND LAUNCHES “AVIARA ALE ACADEMY”
Tap into San Diego’s Craft Beer Scene and Learn from the Experts at America’s 10th Largest Craft Brewery
CARLSBAD, Calif.—October 23, 2013— Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in North San Diego has partnered with award-winning Stone Brewing Co. for a singular way to experience San Diego’s acclaimed craft beer culture. Launching this month, Aviara Ale Academy at Stone Brewing Co. invites budding “Cicerones” – or beer experts – to learn the art of craft beer up close and personal with private tours and the exclusive opportunity to customize their own special beer creation.
A CRAFT BEER OBSESSION:
Nationally renowned for craft beer innovation and production, San Diego has one of the nation’s leading beer scenes with more than 70 craft breweries within the county. Chief amongst them is Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido, Calif., praised by the New York Times and Bon Appétit and declared by BeerAdvocate magazine as the "All-Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth." This experience offers suds-enthusiasts a rare, insider’s look at one of America’s most lauded breweries while savoring the art of creating a signature brew.
THE “AVIARA ALE ACADEMY” EXPERIENCE:
“Ale Apprentices” will travel in a private luxury sedan provided by La Costa Limo to the brewery for a tour and tasting with one of Stone’s Indoctrination Specialists, where they will learn the art and process of brewing craft beer. This includes a leisurely walk through the brewery as well as the newly opened Stone Packaging Hall – headquarters for bottling and quality analysis, and normally off-limits to regular visitors. Then it’s the guests’ turn to summon their inner craft brewer and choose from specially selected ingredients to be added to a 1-liter growler of their favorite Stone beer. An exclusive option only offered to “Aviara Ale Academy” guests, the addition of these ingredients will enhance the flavor and aroma of the chosen brew and provide for an unparalleled drinking experience.
“Ale Apprentices” continue their education with a tour of Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Escondido before choosing a picnic lunch prepared with ingredients harvested fresh from the company’s own farmstead, Stone Farms. Then it’s off to Stone Farms to enjoy the meal along with a pint of a special Stone beer brewed with ingredients from the farm. Guests will be treated to a private tour where they will learn how Stone cultivates all of the produce for its two farm-to-table restaurants as well as how crops are used in some of their beers. The farm tour and lunch is another exclusive experience only available to “Aviara Ale Academy” guests.
To celebrate their newly earned “Bachelor of Suds,” guests are transported back to the AAA Five Diamond Park Hyatt Aviara Resort for a beer-pairing dinner at Argyle Steakhouse. Argyle’s Chef Kurtis Habecker will partner with Stone’s Certified Cicerone® and Craft Beer Ambassador “Dr.” Bill Sysak, to create a gourmet dinner paired with the perfect craft beer.
